Q: Do group classes cost extra?
A: No, both the Oak Park and Universal memberships include classes.
Q: Is there a limit to the number of classes I can attend?
A: No, you can attend as many classes as you like.
Q: Do you have aqua aerobic classes?
A: Not currently.
Q: Do you have swimming lessons?
A: Not currently. We are looking at running an intensive program in January, however, the dates are yet to be confirmed.
Q: What happens when the pool reaches capacity?
A: The Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre can reach capacity, especially during hot weather. At these times, members are given priority and people are let in on a 1-in-1-out basis to ensure the health, safety and fun of all pool-goers.
Q: Do you allow for suspensions?
A: Yes, you can suspend for up to 28 days per calendar year for free, after that it is approximately $7 a week to suspend.
If you are suspending for a medical reason and you can provide us with documentation to support the suspension it won’t affect your free suspension period and you won’t be charged for that time.
Q: Do you have any boxing classes?
A: Not currently. Our next timetable will be released in February and we will be adding more classes then, including boxing.
Q: My child is under 1.2m, can they go on the slide with me?
A: No, we have the height restriction for safety reasons. So we will have to do a little bit more growing before we can go on the slide.
Q: What are wristbands for?
A: As part of our watch around water policy all children below 10 must wear a wristband. Children who are under 5 must wear a yellow band, this tells the lifeguards they must be within arm’s reach of an adult. Children who are over 5 must wear red wristbands, this tells the lifeguards they must be actively supervised by an adult at all times. It is to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the pool safely.
Q: Can I bring a friend to the gym?
A: If your friend comes during our staffed hours they can purchase a casual pass to attend the gym with you. However, they cannot come outside of staffed hours.
Q: Can my child come to the group fitness class and just sit in the corner?
A: No, for safety reasons children are not permitted in the group fitness classes.
